Took Sprout for a short walk today. It's definitely warming up out there. We had to unzip our coats! Still have tons of snow but it is starting to melt. The trees are in pretty bad shape. A lot of them have broken and bowed limbs because of the weight of the snow we got. I did see a tree that looked like it was just starting to get some buds!
Sprout is finally sleeping through the night. He has stopped going for a morning nap....or at least he didn't go for one this morning. He did sleep four hours this afternoon though.
My efforts downstairs look like they are finally paying off. I have listed some of the stuff we have in the local paper on Wednesday. You know...the stuff that is still good but you don't want it, but you don't want to throw it away either. I have a bunch of books to send to the library. I also have a bunch that I can just imagine that no one will take. What do you do with those?

Sprout is doing so much better!
He finally slept through the night last night! He's eating everything that isn't nailed down and his language is back. It seemed to be on hiatus while he was sick. we are taking our first trip out today. Not going far, just outside to see what we can see of the melting snow.
Other then that no real plans for the weekend.
I should mention that I have an awesome DH. He let me sleep until 11am this morning and even offered to let me go for a run but I turned him down. He is working tonight and he does need to sleep. I'll go for a run when he gets up and is eating.
Happy weekend everyone!

Sprout's Fever Has Broken
Last night at about 7pm we had the first sign that his fever was finally over. By midnight we knew it was. Talk about relief.
Then this morning he demanded breakfast and after he was done(which wasn't much btw...) He wanted off the bed. We went for a short walk. Literally only about 4 feet from the room door and he wanted to lay down.
So Daddy carried him back. Of course he has his "robot" which at first he th0ught was cool and well now....he's just pulling at the iv line. I'm hoping they'll take it out after lunch.
I'm still not sure how I missed the dehydration and the obvious signs he wasn't getting better. Thank the Gods that he started that rash! I probably wouldn't have taken him until much later.
Anyhow. I got to get back to the sick kid!

Sprout is in the Hospital
Sprout was admitted friday into the hospital. At this point they have ruled out menningitis, they think it's anti-biotic resistant pneumonia and we are just waiting for his fever to break. They have him on pretty strong anti-biotics and he's no longer dehydrated but he's barely moving and pretty sick.
I'm only home for a few hours. Daddy has him. So I'm keeping this short. I'm exhausted and worried. Keep us in your thoughts.

House Of The Sickies!
So I took Sprout in, 4am yesterday he had a fever of 104.4. Needless to say he's sick. He has pneumonia too! While I'm there, to make a long story short, I do too!
Man, I feel horrible. DH took the night off work to look after the kids so I could sleep. He didn't complain or anything.....which tells you how sick I am. So...7 days of antibiotics and hopefully all will be fine.
In the meantime, I'm dreaming of Peach Cobbler, Steaks, hot dogs with grilled onions and buns, grilled zuchinni and red peppers and b.b.q potatoes! Yum! All served with hot hot weather beside a big cool pool!

I've had so many things go wrong....I'd better buy a lottery ticket!
So Sprout has Gastroenteritis.
Sigh....he seems to be done doing the Egyptian but he's still running a pretty high fever. I'm just hoping that he doesn't have Pneumonia!
I'm pretty tired, just waiting to get sick myself.
On top of that, the Washer still doesn't seem to working quite right and I now have more laundry then ever before!
I have to go.....baby alert!

This One Is Not For The Faint Hearted! (Puke Involved)
Yep...Lots and lots of puke! It seems it's everywhere! If it's not Sprog, it's Sprout! Sprout's much worse though! Smelly.
Yesterday, Sprog threw up all over me and though I had thought that I had wiped it all up...when I stood up...it started running down my legs! Sigh! Then had both kids in the bath...and where is Sprout throwing up? In the water.
So it seems that Sprog is reacting to antibiotics and it seems that Sprout just has a flu of some sort.
Of course they both have colds on top of it, which just makes it all the more fun.
I'm exhausted. I don't think I can take too much more.
It's time for Spring and fresh air and GREEN!
btw...HAPPY ST. PATRICK'S DAY!

Sleep! I Got Sleep!
So yes...I got some sleep! I was in bed by nine and the baby slept pretty peacefully until 1 am. Then he was up about every two hours.
I think the rattle in his chest is getting worse. DH says we need to wait a couple days to give the anti-biotics a chance to work. I hate waiting....I've never been patient but with the kids being sick it's even worse.
As for the weather....well, I can say I'm definitely looking forward to spring! I have a feeling we're going to break that 1971 record of most snowfall. I think yesterday we were only 21 cms off. Today, I'm sure there is at least 10 cm out there. The weather channel says it's going to rain this afternoon. I'm not looking forward to that.

It's Pneumonia!
One more trip to the ER to take our total to three this week! This time, it is pneumonia!
Though now that they've given Sprog some nice drugs, he is sleeping better....kinda. He spent the night cuddled in my arms sleeping peacefully....mama not so much. Every time I moved him over, the fussing would start and quite honestly, he needs the sleep more then I do right now.
Sprog seems more subdued today and not as fussy as yesterday, so hopefully tonight he'll sleep in his crib.
On to other news....he's just like mama, doesn't get fevers! I got an entire lecture from the Triage nurse yesterday about properly drugging my kids so they aren't fussy which would result in less ER visits. Then again, she also said he wasn't congested anymore, he wasn't running a fever and that basically I'd wasted my time by being there.
I said to DH in the waiting room that I'd dragged him out of bed for nothing and what she had said. He said...."so, we're leaving then?" I wanted to wait to see the doctor. Good thing we did.
Sprog was immediately sent for an x-ray and had some blood work done. Result, full blown pneumonia in his right lung. I had to stop myself from tracking down the nurse and punching her out.....Babies always get fevers! YEAH RIGHT!
At least we know now and I can forcefully assert that in the future.

Oh For The Love Of Sick Kids!
Yep...it's official. Sprog has bronchitis. Sprout, of course, still has croup. So you can imagine the lack of sleep I've had in the last few days. Dh was supposed to work last night but stayed home to help give me a break, because.....I'm now sick too!
Sigh!
In other news. I had to have the car repaired yesterday. Putting it in a snow bank three times on Saturday had resulted in a dragging splash cover and a broken belt. They also removed about 200 pounds of snow and ice to get to that problem. I'm thanking whatever lucky stars I still have remaining because it could have been much worse. Much, much worse.
Also....once again having tenant issues. So we are done, if we can't afford the space ourselves we are selling the house. It took three times to learn our lesson but apparently this time it's stuck.
Now we just have to get rid of this tenant.
Sigh!

I finally have a keyboard that works on the laptop!
Which means that I am back to posting on here and hopefully regularly!
So, for all those that missed this, I am so sorry!
The baby turned seven months old yesterday. I can't believe he is that old! He still isn't crawling but he's learned that he can roll all over, which is so cute. Mostly it's trying to keep up with his older brother. He just loves his big brother!
Sprout is talking up a storm, two and three word sentences are the norm right now. He's just getting over a bad case of croup, again! He's definitely breathing much better but still having a few problems at night. So Mama is very tired!
Well I'm off to make breakfast.
