It seems every time that i get on here, something happens and I lose the post or I can't get on or I write something and then walk away and the computer gets taken over by someone else.
So..today is the day I make my 160th post!
The kids are good. Having some trouble with sprog. He has something going on with the nose. Not sure what. Guess we'll have to wait.
The garden is starting to take shape. Can't wait for the end of spring to get my flowers in.
We saw Iron Man the other day. It was pretty good.
That's about it.
These are the notions of a 28 year old SAHM and home business owner. I have a workaholic loving husband and a brand new son. I live at the ass end of the earth and can't wait to move back to civilization!

No More Shoes! Ever!
That's what my son said to me when I was trying to put his shoes on yesterday. I guess I should have been paying attention to the fact that they were way too small! Poor Kid. He completely took the cake though when he crossed his arms across his chest after I kept trying to put them on and said, "I'm Mad!" LOL
Other then that, the garden is coming along. I picked up some seeds yesterday and am planting spinach, onions and a bunch of other things. Woohoo! It's officially spring!
Was at the park three times yesterday. It finally occurred to me that Sprout's idea about a "walk" was actually code for "park" LOL He is just totally so cute. Sprog for the first time yesterday had a round on the swings. He giggled like you wouldn't believe. Thought it was the best thing in the world! I just love the giggles.

Two Days Of Being In Ottawa! I'm BEAT!
Yep....two days of driving back and forth to Ottawa. I'm exhausted!
So many things have been going on and all the getting in the car and out of the car and spending money. Lots of fun!
Got some grass seed yesterday. Now I have to get my butt in gear and get out there and do it....I'll let you know how it goes. I'm not really a grass person....why can't it just grow it's self???
Most of the yard is raked. Started hoeing the vegetable garden.
I have tulips! They are going to be pretty too! I have eight and I can't remember how many I planted....crap! I thought it was twelve but since I only finished digging them out on Saturday I should count my eight!

A Day Without The Kids!
Yep....so I have a day without the kids. Supposed to be going to Ottawa to meet a friend who's in town but she still hasn't called me back yet. So I'm not quite sure what's going on quite yet.
She needs to call soon or else I won't be able to meet her at all. So, I guess I should call her.
Ringing, Ringing, Ringing. No answer. Great.
Oh Well...nope...there she is....gotta go now!

Sprout's New Rubber Boots!
We got Sprout a new pair of rubber boots yesterday!
Yep...nice shiney blue ones....a size 11! The sales clerk asked how old he was, I said two but he has big feet. She brought a pair of size 6s. Nope, too small. Size 8s, nope too small. She brings a pair of size 11s. Yep, just right. HUGE FEET!
we spent time mucking around yesterday. Literally, as Sprout helped me shovel more snow. We also raked the lawn and tidied up some more of the lawn.
Took the kids for a walk and saw our first Robin! It was exciting. At least I thought so. Time to get my bird feeder out!

Yum! Yum! Lemon muffins!
So...went to the grocery store to get muffin liners - those paper things - and of course then saw the mini paper ones...which meant that I needed a mini muffin pan. Yep....
Well Orin has decided going pee pee on the potty is totally worth all the treats he is getting. unfortunately he's now going about 3 to 4 times an hour, which means I've been running out of treats. sigh....at least he has done it all on his own. As long as I don't prompt him too much he tends to go. woohoo!
I'm hoping in four months we'll have one potty trained and one off formula...that means 125 dollars back in our savings account!

Snow Is Almost Gone!
Yep! I can now see 90% of my backyard! The snow is just in a few places. Of course it's still where there was banks but I expect that to take much longer. Still worried about my tulips, there under about 2 feet of snow right now.
Sprout seems to be doing much better. Still has that cold but seems to be doing ok. No more fever! Yay!
Sprog is now starting to pull himself up, I give him a week before he is cruising. He is so cute when he's frustrated. He is also teething. Jeesh! Just pop those teeth out already!
I'm tired. DH is an ass. That about sums up the rest!

I Need To Get Sprout Some Rubber Boots!
So...weekend was ok. Nothing special. Sick kids, sick mama, not much happening.
Sprout seems to be doing better today. He is more active and ate a huge breakfast. Still has a cough but didn't run a fever last night at all. That means no trip to the doctor today! Yay!!!!
I tried to start some writing this weekend but just wasn't in mood. Wasn't in the mood for anything. Even SC. Obviously sick. The most proactive thing I did was dl a burner software program and get some cds of pics burned. Just in case. That and it makes it easier to actually take them in and get them made into photos.....just so I don't put them on the wall!
Sprout and I went for a walk last night. Bottom line. He needs new rubber boots! Lots of puddle jumping. We still have a ton of snow and it's all melting. So the water is crazy everywhere! It doesn't help that we got at least 20 cm of rain on Saturday.
All I can say is: BRING ON THE RAIN TO BRING ON SPRING!

My Step-Sister is Here For A Visit
Yep...came in yesterday. Nice to see her. Been a while. She gets to see the kids, and have a little break. I get to get caught up on girly stuff and drink.
Works out for both of us.
Other then that, things here a bit quiet. Orin decided to not eat lunch and then to toss his cookies. He's been asleep since noon. So cross your fingers and lets hope he didn't catch anything new!
Sigh....not looking forward to what new thing he might have.

Five Things To Be Grateful For!
Someone started this message on one of my message boards and I thought I'd post mine here too.
Right now I have so much to be lucky for.
1. My children are both still here and almost healthy again!
2. Spring is on the way....BRING ON THE RAIN!
3. The house over our heads, the good food we eat, and the love that has brought us all.
4. My family and friends
5. My husband
That's not bad at all!

I Think I'm Seeing The First Signs Of Spring! FINALLY!
Took Sprout for a short walk today. It's definitely warming up out there. We had to unzip our coats! Still have tons of snow but it is starting to melt. The trees are in pretty bad shape. A lot of them have broken and bowed limbs because of the weight of the snow we got. I did see a tree that looked like it was just starting to get some buds!
Sprout is finally sleeping through the night. He has stopped going for a morning nap....or at least he didn't go for one this morning. He did sleep four hours this afternoon though.
My efforts downstairs look like they are finally paying off. I have listed some of the stuff we have in the local paper on Wednesday. You know...the stuff that is still good but you don't want it, but you don't want to throw it away either. I have a bunch of books to send to the library. I also have a bunch that I can just imagine that no one will take. What do you do with those?

Sprout is doing so much better!
He finally slept through the night last night! He's eating everything that isn't nailed down and his language is back. It seemed to be on hiatus while he was sick. we are taking our first trip out today. Not going far, just outside to see what we can see of the melting snow.
Other then that no real plans for the weekend.
I should mention that I have an awesome DH. He let me sleep until 11am this morning and even offered to let me go for a run but I turned him down. He is working tonight and he does need to sleep. I'll go for a run when he gets up and is eating.
Happy weekend everyone!

Sprout's Fever Has Broken
Last night at about 7pm we had the first sign that his fever was finally over. By midnight we knew it was. Talk about relief.
Then this morning he demanded breakfast and after he was done(which wasn't much btw...) He wanted off the bed. We went for a short walk. Literally only about 4 feet from the room door and he wanted to lay down.
So Daddy carried him back. Of course he has his "robot" which at first he th0ught was cool and well now....he's just pulling at the iv line. I'm hoping they'll take it out after lunch.
I'm still not sure how I missed the dehydration and the obvious signs he wasn't getting better. Thank the Gods that he started that rash! I probably wouldn't have taken him until much later.
Anyhow. I got to get back to the sick kid!

Sprout is in the Hospital
Sprout was admitted friday into the hospital. At this point they have ruled out menningitis, they think it's anti-biotic resistant pneumonia and we are just waiting for his fever to break. They have him on pretty strong anti-biotics and he's no longer dehydrated but he's barely moving and pretty sick.
I'm only home for a few hours. Daddy has him. So I'm keeping this short. I'm exhausted and worried. Keep us in your thoughts.

House Of The Sickies!
So I took Sprout in, 4am yesterday he had a fever of 104.4. Needless to say he's sick. He has pneumonia too! While I'm there, to make a long story short, I do too!
Man, I feel horrible. DH took the night off work to look after the kids so I could sleep. He didn't complain or anything.....which tells you how sick I am. So...7 days of antibiotics and hopefully all will be fine.
In the meantime, I'm dreaming of Peach Cobbler, Steaks, hot dogs with grilled onions and buns, grilled zuchinni and red peppers and b.b.q potatoes! Yum! All served with hot hot weather beside a big cool pool!

I've had so many things go wrong....I'd better buy a lottery ticket!
So Sprout has Gastroenteritis.
Sigh....he seems to be done doing the Egyptian but he's still running a pretty high fever. I'm just hoping that he doesn't have Pneumonia!
I'm pretty tired, just waiting to get sick myself.
On top of that, the Washer still doesn't seem to working quite right and I now have more laundry then ever before!
I have to go.....baby alert!

This One Is Not For The Faint Hearted! (Puke Involved)
Yep...Lots and lots of puke! It seems it's everywhere! If it's not Sprog, it's Sprout! Sprout's much worse though! Smelly.
Yesterday, Sprog threw up all over me and though I had thought that I had wiped it all up...when I stood up...it started running down my legs! Sigh! Then had both kids in the bath...and where is Sprout throwing up? In the water.
So it seems that Sprog is reacting to antibiotics and it seems that Sprout just has a flu of some sort.
Of course they both have colds on top of it, which just makes it all the more fun.
I'm exhausted. I don't think I can take too much more.
It's time for Spring and fresh air and GREEN!
btw...HAPPY ST. PATRICK'S DAY!

Sleep! I Got Sleep!
So yes...I got some sleep! I was in bed by nine and the baby slept pretty peacefully until 1 am. Then he was up about every two hours.
I think the rattle in his chest is getting worse. DH says we need to wait a couple days to give the anti-biotics a chance to work. I hate waiting....I've never been patient but with the kids being sick it's even worse.
As for the weather....well, I can say I'm definitely looking forward to spring! I have a feeling we're going to break that 1971 record of most snowfall. I think yesterday we were only 21 cms off. Today, I'm sure there is at least 10 cm out there. The weather channel says it's going to rain this afternoon. I'm not looking forward to that.

It's Pneumonia!
One more trip to the ER to take our total to three this week! This time, it is pneumonia!
Though now that they've given Sprog some nice drugs, he is sleeping better....kinda. He spent the night cuddled in my arms sleeping peacefully....mama not so much. Every time I moved him over, the fussing would start and quite honestly, he needs the sleep more then I do right now.
Sprog seems more subdued today and not as fussy as yesterday, so hopefully tonight he'll sleep in his crib.
On to other news....he's just like mama, doesn't get fevers! I got an entire lecture from the Triage nurse yesterday about properly drugging my kids so they aren't fussy which would result in less ER visits. Then again, she also said he wasn't congested anymore, he wasn't running a fever and that basically I'd wasted my time by being there.
I said to DH in the waiting room that I'd dragged him out of bed for nothing and what she had said. He said...."so, we're leaving then?" I wanted to wait to see the doctor. Good thing we did.
Sprog was immediately sent for an x-ray and had some blood work done. Result, full blown pneumonia in his right lung. I had to stop myself from tracking down the nurse and punching her out.....Babies always get fevers! YEAH RIGHT!
At least we know now and I can forcefully assert that in the future.

Oh For The Love Of Sick Kids!
Yep...it's official. Sprog has bronchitis. Sprout, of course, still has croup. So you can imagine the lack of sleep I've had in the last few days. Dh was supposed to work last night but stayed home to help give me a break, because.....I'm now sick too!
Sigh!
In other news. I had to have the car repaired yesterday. Putting it in a snow bank three times on Saturday had resulted in a dragging splash cover and a broken belt. They also removed about 200 pounds of snow and ice to get to that problem. I'm thanking whatever lucky stars I still have remaining because it could have been much worse. Much, much worse.
Also....once again having tenant issues. So we are done, if we can't afford the space ourselves we are selling the house. It took three times to learn our lesson but apparently this time it's stuck.
Now we just have to get rid of this tenant.
Sigh!
